St. Paul Truth in Housing
When you sell a single family home, duplex, townhome or condominium in the city of St. Paul, the city requires that you have an inspection done before the property is put on the market. This inspection checks the home for certain items, rates them, but the city does not require that any repairs be performed. These inspections generally take about one hour to complete. We produce a computer generated report on site. We then review the report with you and answer any questions you might have. Many sellers then make multiple copies of the report. These reports must be available for viewing to prospective buyers when the home is being shown. Again, the main difference between St. Paul’s inspection program and other cities’ is that St. Paul does not require the seller to perform any repairs.
